WtPB 63 - Equilibrium and V for Vendetta

We're jumping a head a bit here so you all don't think we've given up on discussing movies. Episodes 58-62 will be coming in the upcoming weeks.

This episode Dylan and Sarah are joined by our friend and burgeoning stand up comedian Adam Grose, to talk about a couple politically motivated movies in the form of Equilibrium and V for Vendetta. We're aware we've covered V before, but it's never bad to reexamine things with a new perspective.

First up, we talked about a movie I'm a little surprised we haven't done before, Equilibrium. A dystopian action film, starring Christian Bale and Taye Diggs. Set in a world where it's been decided that emotion was the driving force behind every major conflict, the government has decided to suppress everyone's emotions via a drug that everybody is required to take.

Then we talked about V for Vendetta. Another dystopian action film based on the graphic novel from angry wizard, Alan Moore. Starring Hugo Weaving and Natalie Portman. The movie centers around the titular V inspiring an uprising through acts of terrorism against a fascist UK government.

I won't bore you with anymore written words, let's just get to it.
