This episode creator and star of the webseries Dead Drift, Ken Carlson joins Sarah and Dylan to talk about two amazing sci-fi films
from the 90s. 12 Monkeys and Dark city. We also covered a multitude of
other subjects, as we do around here.
We
started with 12 Monkeys. A mind bending time travel story directed by
the great and often underrated Terry Gilliam. The movie features Bruce
Willis and Brad Pitt in roles that are to this day exceptional in their
respective careers. The basic plot revolves around Willis' attempts to
track down the origins of a plague that decimated humanity, leaving
roughly 1% of the population alive.
Dark City is
arguably Alex Proyas' best film, while simultaneously being his least
known major motion picture. The movie follows Rufus Sewell as John
Murdock, as he uncovers the true nature of the world around him. A dark
sci-fi noir film that explores what it means to be human.
