WtPB 38- Horror Resorts

Before we get into it, we just want to get a few plugs in. First, a video podcast called The G.O.A.T. Movie Podcast. Their show is not dissimilar to ours, so if you like our discussions, check them out. The second is another youtube review show called Father and Son Reviews. Again, if you like our discussions this show is similar so check it out. Last, but far from least is a really well done web series called Dead Drift. Think a mashup of The Office and Red Dwarf with some Lovecraftian stuff thrown in for good measure in season 2. Super entertaining and I personally cannot wait for more episodes.

But let's get to this week's show where Sarah, Derek and Dylan sit down to talk about a couple horror comedies that take place at resorts. Love in the Time of Monsters and Club Dread. Two hilarious movies.
We started with Love in the Time of Monsters. The producer of which has been suggesting we do this movie since we covered Zombeavers in our WTF Movies episode. After watching it, I completely understand why.

The basic idea of the movie is that a pair of sisters are going on their first vacation since their childhood, at Uncle Slavko's All American Family Lodge. Which does nature hikes featuring guys in bigfoot suits. Unfortunately, they came on exactly the wrong day. As the guys in bigfoot suits get exposed to toxic waste in a lake which mutates them into zombies, essentially and things only get worse from there.

Next we talked about Club Dread, from the guys who brought you Super Troopers. Only this time, instead of highway patrolmen protecting their jobs, they're resort employees trying to survive as a mysterious killer stalks them.

Both movies are incredibly funny and totally worth watching. Which I suggest you do before listening to this episode, or you're likely to be lost in the conversation. So without further ado, let's get on with it shall we?

Don't forget, you can also find us on iTunes and Stitcher.

As always we encourage you to buy these movies by checking out these Amazon links. But hey, if you already own these movies, anything you buy after following these links will help us out.
