Not a good movie at all. I honestly wasn't expecting much going in, and I'm glad for that. I think it helped me enjoy the movie for what it is. I'll warn any readers right now that there will be spoilers in this entry. Read on at your own risk.
Let me just start off by saying it's not the worst movie I've ever seen, but it's pretty bad. About 90% of the humor is dick jokes, and the other 10% just feel very forced. There are some decent scenes, but overall the movie just seems like an excuse to throw out some dick and weed jokes.
The plot is ridiculous. Basically James Franco and Danny McBride are trying to rescue Zooey Deschanel
from an evil wizard who wants Zooey to take her virginity so she will have a dragon baby, which he will somehow be in control of, which in turn somehow gives him ultimate power.
There's a rather contrived subplot involving Franco's compatriots who betray him to the villain of the movie. As it turns out this betrayal is all because the leader of his men has a gay crush on Franco's character.
The effects are also very lopsided. There are some extremely well done effects, and some horrendous effects. For example, there is a minotaur in this movie, and it looks amazing. But there's also a character called The Wise Wizard which is obviously a puppet, controlled by a person who appears to have never used a puppet before in their life. Links below:

You get more of a feel of just how terrible the Wizard is IF you choose to watch this movie.
Overall, I more or less enjoyed myself while watching it. But I probably won't watch it again for a very long time if ever again. If I were forced to give it a score out of 10, I would say somewhere around 3 or 4. Not very good, but nowhere near the worst movie I've ever seen. If you go in with low expectations as I did, you'll probably enjoy it.
If forced to compare it to another movie I would say Dungeons and Dragons with a lot of incredibly juvenile humor.
