WtPB 46 - Confessions of a Dangerous Mind + Seven Psychopaths

This week Sarah, Dylan and Derek talk about two movies featuring Sam Rockwell playing a hitman. Or at least movies where his character claims to be a hitman. The movies in question? Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Seven Psychopaths. And a small correction, this is our 46th episode, not our 45th as Dylan says at the beginning.

We briefly have a spoiler free discussion about a few movies and tv shows we've seen recently, before getting into our usual spoilerful review of the movies in question.

We start the main portion of the show with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. A supposedly "Unauthorized biography" of Chuck Barris' life, written by Chuck Barris. Detailing his song writing, television producing and, he claims, his time as a hitman for the CIA, which as far as we're aware has never been confirmed to denied.

Then we moved on the Seven Psychopaths. A quirky, Coen-esque comedy, about a screen writer trying to write a movie, also titled Seven Psychopaths. It gets very meta in places and is surprisingly lite given the subject matter. It never feels as heavy as one would expect given the situations the characters find themselves in.

We takes a couple short Youtube breaks to bring Derek up to speed regarding a recurring character on So You Think You Can Dance, who calls himself Sex, who would have been a perfect contestant on Chuck Barris' "Gong Show." The second break involves a clip from MadTV, featuring Will Sasso playing Steven Seagal promoting a movie called Crouching Cops Hidden Badges.

So You Think You Can Dance, Sex:

Without further ado, let's get to this show on the road.
